October 3rd 2014: San Diego Manufacturing Day Breakfast

San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation

October 3 San Diego Manufacturing Day Breakfast

Did you know there are over 3,000 manufacturers –
supporting 93,450 jobs in San Diego County?

October 3 is National Manufacturing Day. It acknowledges the great products made in your backyard and across the country. Over 20 San Diego manufacturers are opening their facilities throughout the day for tours to dispel myths about today's manufacturing and show the community the great career opportunities that are available within the industry.

To kick-off the day's celebration, EDC along with sponsors and other community partners are hosting a breakfast event that will include remarks from Mayor Kevin Faulconer, City of San Diego, and Dr. Trudy Gerald, Dean of San Diego City College CACT program, acknowledging the importance of manufacturing in our region. A dynamic panel discussion will be moderated by Jack Stewart, President of California Manufacturers and Technology Association, and the panel will feature leaders from 3D Robotics, CareFusion, General Dynamics NASSCO, Sector 9, and ViaSat.
