Introduction of Kevin Adam, PhD and Beatrice David Shevlin, PhD, Co-directors of the French BioBeach business platform

After Clementine Gibard beautifully took care of the French Biobeach activities and left for Idaho in January 2018, Stephane Richard is now working with two new team members, Kevin Adam, representing the more academic wing of the platform, and Beatrice David Shevlin, with industrial experience.

Thank You to our  Partners

Kevin Adam, PhD

Native from Brittany on the west coast of France, Kevin joined the warmer west coast of the US in September 2015. With over 7-years of experience in project management & research/development and over 2-years’ experience as consultant in competitive intelligence & market research, he joined the direction of the French BioBeach in 2018. Holder of a Master`s dual-degree in Oncology from the Ecole Normale Superieure of Cachan and a Magistere of Biotechnology from the Paris-Sud University (Paris XI), he earned his PhD in Onco-hematology from the Paris-Descartes University (Paris V) as a biologist.

While doing his PhD, Kevin joined in 2012 the business incubator Quattrocento (5th French Tech investment) as a consultant in R&D strategy and innovation to satisfy his interest in innovation and industrialization. Then, he participated to the launch of the educational program Savanturiers in 2013, advertised later through the TEDx talk in Paris, to promote learning through experimenting and communication.

Currently research associate at the Salk Institute, professional scientific collaborator at The Scripps Research Institute and consultant fellow at the APDCC of UCSD since 2016, he is now intending to expand the French BioBeach network and community. During the rest of his time, Kevin enjoys the outdoors activities offered by the Californian weather and he is fervent of backpacking adventures and travels.

Beatrice David Shevlin, PhD

Beatrice owns a double master’s degree in Organic Chemistry and Pharmacology, after completing the “Magistere Chimie-Biologie” at Louis Pasteur University, Strasbourg, France, and a PhD in Bio Organic Chemistry from Louis Pasteur University (January 1995), prepared under the supervision of Dr Francis Schuber.

After a post doc at Kyoto University, Japan, she soon moved to business after earning a Purchasing Manager degree from IFOCOP Paris. She worked as a procurement associate for Clariant, in the Cuise-Lamotte factory, North of Paris.

From 1999, Beatrice has been perfecting and selling scientific imaging platforms, to academic and industrial research laboratories, first with Hamamatsu Photonics France, then in 2004, she started and optimized the European branch of Xenogen Corporation, a San Francisco Bay based company that pioneered pre-clinical molecular imaging using bioluminescence and fluorescence. Xenogen Corporation was subsequently acquired by Caliper Life Sciences, which became part of PerkinElmer in 2011.

In 2014 she moved to San Diego, and, after developing the sales of IVD devices in Europe for Acon Laboratories. She returned to PerkinElmer in January 2016 to become PerkinElmer High Content Imaging Senior Sales Specialist for the West Coast.

Joining the French BioBeach is a natural move.

Beatrice has been conducting business since 1999 in 4 different languages (French, English, Spanish and Italian), and has good knowledge of the Japanese culture.
